About Us

HAPS originated in Jackson County in 1960. The program has operated under several different names throughout the decades. Our scope of services has both changed and expanded over the years but our core mission remains the same. We want to empower others to a healthier life.

HAPS is a non-profit 501c3 agency and is funded by community donations and the United Way of Jackson & George Counties. The agency is governed by a Board of Directors who are volunteers from the community, and is overseen by an Executive Director.
